This app wont work at all for me even if I clap as hard as I can

Clap on. Clap off??? I thought this would be a lot of fun but that thought quickly dissolved. I can get it to either clap on OR off ONCE. Once it has been triggered on or off, it no longer appears to listen. Is this by design? Using the latest iOS on iPhone 5. Not that big of a deal but the app also doesnt support the iPhone 5s screen size.
On second use did not turn on the light. First time ok
